Joan is the visionary owner and stylist of Evolve Hair Design, dedicated to fostering an inspiring and positive work environment for both our talented team and valued clients. 

Joan graduated from Montana State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree before attending The Academy of Cosmetology. She is a keen stylist that has long been passionate about the beauty industry and loves getting creative with hair design. 

Joan blends her art and cosmetology background, offering a distinctive approach while delivering clean, precise styles. She stays attuned to the latest trends, drawing inspiration from both contemporary and vintage fashion. By carefully listening to her clients, she crafts personalized looks that perfectly align with their lifestyle, personality, and facial features. Additionally, she empowers them with valuable product recommendations and styling tips, ensuring they can maintain a polished appearance every day.

Joan continually elevates her skills through advanced classes in hair cutting, coloring, and styling. She honed her craft in straight razor haircutting at the prestigious University of Bumble and Bumble in New York City. Additionally, she has completed the Oribe Journey to Mastery series, both at their New York studio and in her own salon, where she brings in top educators to share their expertise. This commitment to ongoing education ensures that Joan remains at the forefront of the industry, delivering exceptional results to her clients.

From July 2023 to July 2024, she proudly joined the team of educators for R+Color/R+Co, which was a significant milestone in her career. Following this experience, she was invited to join Oribe as an Oribe Signature Educator Stylist—a testament to her background and passion for the brand, which she believes is unmatched in quality. With aspirations to showcase her skills at New York Fashion Week, she is driven to push the boundaries of her artistry and make her mark on the fashion industry. 

Joan is deeply passionate about sharing her knowledge, offering a diverse range of classes and mentoring her team at Evolve Hair Design. She emphasizes the importance of continuous education, regularly providing her team with additional training to enhance their skills, spark inspiration, and drive personal growth. Joan firmly believes that higher education and lifelong learning are essential, which is why she has pursued countless classes throughout her career and remains committed to ongoing development. Her extensive experience includes collaborating with some of the most skilled and innovative stylists both locally and nationally.

Joan’s personal style is a mixture of sleek chic, edgy, and streetwear fashion. She loves evolving her look by exploring makeup, styling techniques and accessorizing. Lipstick, earrings, and shoes are her signature favorites!
